Hampshire County Council - in partnership with Southampton and Portsmouth City Councils and the New Forest and South Downs National Park Authorities - is responsible for planning for minerals and waste development in Hampshire
The draft Hampshire Minerals and Waste Plan
The draft Hampshire Minerals and Waste Plan (the Plan) has now been published for a six week period for representations on its 'soundness'. Following this period the draft Plan will be submitted to the Secretary of State alongside the representations. An independent Planning Inspector will then consider the draft Plan at Public Examination on its 'soundness.
The period for making representations runs from 7 November 2011 to 19 December 2011.
We have prepared the draft Plan based on local priorities, technical evidence, comments received and national guidance. In doing this we have:
- Updated our supporting evidence to reflect the most up to date and accurate information that we have available
- Prepared policies that set out the framework for consideration of minerals and waste development in Hampshire – the key to protecting our environment and communities, while supporting economic prosperity
- Prepared our development considerations for sites – issues specific to the individual sites that will need to be considered and resolved within a planning application before permission could be granted
To see the draft Plan and its supporting evidence and for further information please see Publication of the Draft Hampshire Minerals and Waste Plan
Our website will always have the latest timetable for the planning process.
All comments previously submitted are held at Hampshire County Council Offices and can be viewed by appointment. They will be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and kept for three years after the Hampshire Minerals and Waste Plan is adopted.
